My first thoughts for my A2 media product is to do a video based on the subject of mental health in young girls. Body image is a common issue for the younger genaration and I would like to incorporate the problems they face within my media work. Through reaserching into existing media about eating disorders, I have found an interesting amateur short film which depicts the people who have eating disorders very powerfully. The concept of this video is quite minmalistic however the way in which they used non-diegetic is very moving and powerful, the voice over is truly captivating as what the girl is saying is dark and hard to hear. The video exposes the ignorance of society in thinking girls who have lost weight are a success story rather then people who are extremely ill. I believe the purpose of this text is to highlight how mental health in girls is ignored and not taken seriously. Before I start my research, a plan needs to be be put in place so all areas of research will be covered in my work. A step by step plan will help me with my time management as different posts will be set to be done on certain times, this helps me keep on track and stay to my deadline in December. The process me and my team went through to create this product is looking at are existing blogs from As and seeing what posts they contained and how they could have been improved.
