Ancillary Draft

This is my first ancillary draft, instead of taking an conventional approach with using an real life photo of an artist I chose a less traditional and more contemporary art for my CD cover. The photos which was taken for my CD cover were manipulated to give the cartoon effect. Personally I enjoy the final result as it is fun and bright contrasting with the sad content within the song I have chosen 'Drown'. The use of binary opposites creates a perfect balence of emotions attracting the audience to the unconventional CD cover, therefore increasing the chances of sales.

In order to improve my draft I will be showing the public my design and they will be ask tailed questions which will help me develop my CD cover further. Gaining coutomer opinion will really help me target my audience as it will be altered to suit there needs and wants within a CD cover.
The mark scheme will also be taken into consideration when creating my final design to ensure the highest marks and quality.

Already with my draft I see improvements needing to be made such as the limited use of fonts, the mark scheme specifically says a valid use of fonts needs to be shown. A survey will be given for people to chose there favourite font which compliments with the original font on my work. Also common conventions of a CD are missing from my draft such as the record label and copyright information and spine these little details increase the authenticty and believability of the CD cover.
