  This is my first ancillary draft, instead of taking an conventional approach with using an real life photo of an artist I chose a less traditional and more contemporary art for my CD cover. The photos which was taken for my CD cover were manipulated to give the cartoon effect. Personally I enjoy the final result as it is fun and bright contrasting with the sad content within the song I have chosen 'Drown'. The use of binary opposites creates a perfect balence of emotions attracting the audience to the unconventional CD cover, therefore increasing the chances of sales. In order to improve my draft I will be showing the public my design and they will be ask tailed questions which will help me develop my CD cover further. Gaining coutomer opinion will really help me target my audience as it will be altered to suit there needs and wants within a CD cover. Green Screen  Green Screen will be used for my final music video to give an visual representation of how the character feels. Throughout the video I want the opacity of the hole to fade to show how she is improving her mental state. This effect will be achieved on the platform Final Cut Express and its purpose is to attract the audiences attention. The green piece of paper was purposely positioned where my characters heart would be, this is an symbolic code as they are multiple readings into this. For example it implies that the character feels empty or that she is heartless, the preferred reading to is that she is suffering from mental health and feels they is hole within her. To create the green screen effect I went onto effects on the top bar of Final Cut Express then went into the Key bar to then Chroma Keyer. Ensuring that my music video looks professional is important when wanting to create an visual interesting and high quality media product. Colour grading is perfect for giving the high budget and professional film feel, manipulating my image will also show my range of skills in Final Cut Express.

In order to gain views I must add an element of controversy to my music video as throughout the past the most viewed videos have gained views through free publicity addressing the content within the video. For example Miley Cyrus Wreaking Ball had many views due to the issues surrounding the video.

Steve Neale theory is supported by Goodwin's theory of Genre characteristics as Goodwin states that they are elements which are repeated in a particular music genre in all music videos. An example of this is nearly all rock music videos include the band singing and playing the instruments.Personally I feel that this theory cannot be applied to music as they is such a large scope and range to music genres. Songs are commonly a mix of multiple genres for example my chosen music is a hybrid mix of alternative mental, metalcore, alternative rock and post-hardcore. Due to the fluidity of music genre it is hard to pin point one genre and create differences and changes.
